We have many people who study various aspects of medieval life and like to put on demonstrations of what they have learned. There are cooks, brewers, spinners, calligraphers, heralds, blacksmiths, dancers, leather workers, musicians, archers, armored fighters, and much more. If someone did it in the Middle Ages, someone is likely doing it now.
If you are a medieval enthusiast and would like to join us, or if your school/organization/library/
Our largest annual demo is at the Mid-Summer Knights Medieval Festival held in June each year at Christ Episcopal Church, 2627 Atlantic St NE, Warren, OH 44483.
The festivities kickoff with a feast on the Friday evening, then continue on Saturday and Sunday. We always have a lot of great things to demo and we try to vary the show some from year to year. Typically on the schedule for us is thrown weapons, archery, combat, dancing, arts & sciences display, blacksmithing, and a period encampment to visit (more of a living history setup). We also have had equestrian activities and we do have room for siege weapon demonstrations and much more. The festival also has music, theater, kid’s play area, Queen’s Court, craft vendors, and food. The festival is a very nice size with over 80 staff/volunteers and over 1,000 in attendance. Check their website for more details.
