for any number of Couples in a line
This dance was created by SCA members based on a Russian folk tune.
As danced in Rivenvale
Couples begin in Promenade hold, both facing front and holding both hands, the Woman’s right hand up by her shoulder and the Man’s right behind her shoulders.
2 Singles Right, 2 Singles Left, then 1 Single Right and 1 Single Left. Woman turns under the Man’s arm so the Partners’ hands are crossed. Drop hands.
Couples turn away from each other with 3 steps, all clap, then turn back 3 steps and clap.
Take both hands and step together, step apart, then the Woman spins under the Mans arm to change places.
Turn away, clap, turn back, clap.
Take both hands and step together, step apart, then return to original position.
Repeat, going faster each time.
