The Shire of Rivenvale’s Winter Wassail was held in the beautiful Pioneer Pavilion in Mill Creek Park (870 Old Furnace Road, Youngstown, OH, 44511) on Saturday, January 13th. The weather was not exactly agreeable but many braved the elements and joined the evenings festivities.

We were honored to have the Baron and Baroness of the Cleftlands, Baron Crispin al Rumi and Baroness Gianna Vettori in attendance for the evening.  They held a small court in allowance by Their Royal Majesties King Cellach and Queen Vukasin, who were unable to attend, and presented awards to some of our own shire members.

Lady Beatrix Beeman – Award of the Purple Fret

Lady Áine ingen Uí Briain – Order of the Willow

Lady Katherine Coscombe  – Order of the Willow

Other awards given but were not in attendance were:

The Honourable Lady Richildis of Rydychen – Order of the Evergreen

Lord Gillis MacLachlan (Friar Gillis) – Award of Arms

The late Lord Gerin of Rydychen – Award of Arms

After court a pot luck feast was held and much eating and drinking was done by all.

When feast was completed the dancing commenced.  It was great to see many that may not usually dance join in and enjoy themselves.

We look forward to next years Winter Wassail and hope to see the faces of old friends and to make new.
